AGC East Tennessee’s Construction Leadership Council was designed to empower the next generation of industry leaders. CLC provides a platform for emerging construction professionals to develop their professional and personal growth, expand their networks, and make meaningful contributions to the industry. By fostering collaboration, education, and mentorship, the committee prepares professionals for leadership roles within their organizations, community, and industry.

What We Do
Leadership Development: Equip young professionals with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to grow as leaders in the construction industry.
Networking Opportunities: Create a community where emerging leaders can connect, share ideas, and build lasting professional relationships.
Mentorship and Guidance: Facilitate mentoring programs that connect young professionals with experienced industry leaders for career guidance and support.
Industry Education: Provide access to resources, training, and workshops to enhance technical knowledge and business acumen.
Community Engagement: Encourage young professionals to participate in community service and industry advocacy initiatives, fostering a sense of purpose and responsibility.
Membership
To be considered for CLC membership, candidates must be nominated by their company owner, CEO, or other executive leader. There is no fee to join, but participants must be employed by an AGC-member company in good standing.
Members are required to attend official member meetingsand are encouraged to get involved in committees and in programming to expand their leadership roles.
Some Success Stories
BIG PIG BBQ Contest
This small industry event started in a dusty parking lot with 9 teams in 2019 and has since emerged into a Kansas City BBQ Sociey certified event embraced by the city of Chattanooga. In 2026, the event welcomed 22 teams, 800 guests, and raised nearly $40,000 for the Construction Career Center
The Construction Camp
Since launching in 2023, the Construction Camp has taught nearly 200 rising 8th and 9th graders the basics of construction in a fun, safe and educational space. In 2026, the Camp received a $150,000 grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies to expand its footprint to more kids in the Chattanooga area.
Community Leadership
Our emerging leaders have led “Repair Days” at local non-profict faciities like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga and Widow’s Harvest, mentored students at Chatt State and UTC, raised funds for scholarships to support students in construction pathways. CLC participants have gone on to serve on civic and community boards they have connected with through CLC.
